CTD-O 12.5/20 Tablet

CTD-O 12.5/20 Tablet is a combination of two medicines used to control high blood pressure (hypertension). If high blood pressure is not treated, it can lead to heart attack, stroke and kidney failure.

It can be taken with or without food. Take it at the same time each day and continue taking it as long as your doctor advises. As it contains a diuretic (water pill), it may increase urine output, so it is better to avoid taking it within four hours of going to bed. Use this medicine regularly even if you feel well, because high blood pressure usually has no symptoms.

Do not stop this medicine suddenly without medical advice, as it may increase the risk of heart attack or stroke.

CTD-O 12.5/20 Tablet combines Olmesartan and Chlorthalidone. It is generally used when a single medicine is not sufficient to control blood pressure.

Olmesartan relaxes and widens blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily and thereby lowering blood pressure.
Chlorthalidone is a diuretic (water pill) that increases urine output and removes excess fluid, which further helps reduce blood pressure.

When blood pressure is controlled, the risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney damage is reduced. It works in the long term to keep you well, even though you may not feel any immediate benefit.

Most side effects do not need medical attention and improve as your body adjusts. Consult your doctor if they persist or worry you.

Take CTD-O 12.5/20 Tablet in the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not chew, crush or break it. It may be taken with or without food, but try to take it at a fixed time each day. Do not stop the medicine without consulting your doctor.
