Telvas® Beta 50

• Combination therapy for management of hypertension (blood pressure control).
• Telmisartan — an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB).
• Metoprolol Succinate ER — an extended-release beta-blocker for heart rate and blood pressure control.

Each film-coated bilayered tablet contains:

• Telmisartan IP — 40 mg
• Metoprolol Succinate IP (equivalent to Metoprolol Tartrate) — 50 mg (as extended-release)
• Excipients — q.s.

Used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) where combination therapy is indicated. May help reduce risk of cardiovascular events as advised by your physician.

Important: Use exactly as directed by your prescribing physician.

• Do not change dose or stop therapy without consulting the physician.
• Swallow whole — do not crush or chew sustained-release tablets.

• This product is a prescription medicine. It must be used only under medical supervision.
• Avoid during pregnancy — telmisartan may cause fetal harm. Women of childbearing potential should use effective contraception and inform their physician if pregnancy is planned or suspected.
• Use with caution in patients with heart failure, severe bradycardia, or certain conduction disorders. Inform your doctor about other medicines you are taking (especially other antihypertensives, beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers, diuretics, NSAIDs).
• Possible side effects: dizziness, fatigue, slowed heart rate, hypotension — consult your doctor for side-effect information.
